Czech Days in Macau

The Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Hong Kong organized with a 5 star hotel MGM Grand Macau a large scale Czech presentation in Macau in the period of May 8-17, 2009. At that time, three leading chefs from Prague were visiting at the Rossio restaurant of the hotel, musicians and dancers from „Radhošť“ – a songs and dance ensemble from Rožnov p. R., performed several times a day in a spacious interior of the MGM Grand and a Czech modern art glass exhibition was on display there, as well.
Consulate General of the Czech Republic scheduled the „Czech Days“ in Macau to highlight the Czech EU Presidency and to organized a number of working and social events around them. On May 12, 2009, the Consul General of the Czech Republic, Mr Rudolf Hykl, hosted at the MGM Grand a working lunch of EU Consuls General with the Chief Executive of Macau, Honorable Edmund Ho. On the same day, the Office of the EC held a cocktail reception in the hotel on the occasion of the Europe Day. The EU Working Group for trade was invited to the Rossio restaurant by the Czech Consulate General in the following week for a working luncheon with representatives of Macau Government‘s Investment and Trade Promotion Institute.
Czech Days in Macau culminated on May 16, 2009 by a Czech Pool Party organized by the MGM Grand. The event was an impressive night musical show attended by over 1000 people.
