Czechia Makes a Strong Impression at the Hong Kong Wine & Spirits Fair

The HKTDC Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair took place from November 7 to 9, drawing exhibitors and enthusiasts from around the world to celebrate exceptional wines, spirits, and craft beverages. This year, Czechia took center stage with a prominent spot at the entrance, captivating visitors through an impressive showcase of products, a lively press conference, and engaging interactions. The Czech wine delegation was expertly organized by Liana Hrabálková, Vice-president of the Czech Grape and Wine Producers´ Association, whose efforts ensured a strong and coordinated presence at the fair.
The Hong Kong Wine & Spirits Fair provides a unique platform for exhibitors to connect with the Asian market and introduce new products. Attendees are invited to explore a wide variety of offerings—from red and white wines to beer, whisky, gin, premium liqueurs, and specialty foods, as well as quality glassware and accessories. This year’s fair highlighted the diversity and innovation within the industry, and Czechia’s presence added a special blend of tradition and modern craftsmanship.

Czech Brands at the Fair

The Czech Republic was represented at the fair by seven companies, each of which presented the best of the Czech wine and spirits tradition. Ludwig Winery led with innovation, presenting wine flour and grape tea—a sustainable twist on traditional winemaking. Thaya stood out by winning two prestigious awards, capturing attention with wines that express the unique flavors of the Znojmo region.

Heritage took center stage with Dvůr pod Starýma horama, a family winery with almost 150 years of tradition, offering wines inspired by Czech seasonal flavors. Obelisk Winery highlighted the elegance of premium still and sparkling wines from the vineyards of Valtice, the capital of Czech wine.

Representing the Czech beer tradition, Pivovar Ferdinand, established in 1872, brought authentic Czech beer brewed using the classic open fermentation technique. Bringing a modern twist, Garage22, Prague’s first craft gin distillery, impressed with bold botanical gins that blend tradition with contemporary flair. Green Tree Distillery, Europe’s oldest distillery founded in 1518, rounded out the lineup with spirits that embody over 500 years of expertise.

Celebrating Czechia with a Special “Happy Hour” Event

In collaboration with Lasvit, the Czech Consulate organized a “Happy Hour” event, providing Czech producers with a valuable opportunity to connect with top distributors in Hong Kong. This exclusive networking session fostered direct conversations and potential partnerships, paving the way for Czech brands to establish a stronger foothold in the Asian market.

The Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Hong Kong is committed to supporting Czech companies in their global expansion efforts. We look forward to seeing more Czech products on Hong Kong shelves and are here to support any partnerships that help bring Czech quality to Asia.
