Dream as the Secret of Ontology

“Artistic work is like daytime dreaming

“Poet and Human Imagination”, Sigmund Freud, 1907

wiki how / Daydreaming is a great way to make new ideas. If you let your mind just wander, it will surprise you how creative you are. Daydreaming allows you to imagine how it will achieve your goals and help you keep your motivation. When you have the next few minutes to waste, try to do the dreaming, not reading messages on the Internet or playing a computer game. You will feel more relaxed and more positive and you will be motivated.

The exhibition “Solo on Flute” brings us into the world of dreaming and a state where one consciously dreams. Artworks reflect the theme of dynamic relationships between a Man and his world. The visual style of the objects that are formed mainly in contours gives us a feeling of seeing them as if they were seen in childhood. We call this visual code as “primary naive school “ according to a phenomenological philosopher Gaston Bachelard whose book entitled “Poetics of Space” was one of the inspiring sources for the author.

In Zvěřina’s words, these works are made to visualize the mental frame of mind in a situation of dreaming during the day. The musical instrument of the flute is a symbol of improvisation and imaginary space of mind.

At Zvěřina's artwork, I’m most interested in moments of the combination of traditional techniques and materials with contemporary technology. This fact, this approach, makes his installations sophisticated and unique and allows him to communicate with the international art scene.

A lonely man playing his solo on a flute.

Objects made by metal and bronze string installed on a newspaper mat from the Communist era in Czechoslovakia.

Symbolic objects cast from the lead.

Drawings dealing with feelings of loneliness and engagement with society.

Objects in installation look like amulets. “A good amulet should be original and should be handmade. It supplies the power of consciousness, it supports the energy and the spirit of Man. With its magical power protects the owner”  Wikipedia

Zvěřina’s amulets seem to be really helpful, at least the function of keeping concentration on...

Dreaming as the creation of new inner objects and self-analysis.

The exhibition “Solo on Flute” will let you dream on your interrupted dreams.
