
Klára Tasovská's Film "I’m Not Everything I Want to Be" received a special mention at DocPoint Festival in Helsinki

Klára Tasovská's Czech film “I'm Not Everything I Want to Be” received a special mention from the jury at DocPoint documentary film festival in Helsinki, which was held from 4 to 9 February 2025.
This film, which follows the life story of photographer Libuše Jarcovjáková and her view of life behind the Iron Curtain, impressed the jury with its ability to transform still photographs into moving images. Thanks to the precise editing and sound design, the documentary became a powerful experience that encourages reflection on history and the present. The jury appreciated its artistic value, along with the political context that forces the audience to reflect on the past from today's perspective.
Klára Tasovská's "I'm Not Everything I Want to Be" also opened the festival DocPoint in Tallinn. After this successful premiere, Klára Tasovská moved to Helsinki to answer questions after the Saturday screening of her film. Thanks to its ability to connect photography and film language with political and historical context, "I'm Not Everything I Want to Be" has gained a lot of attention not only in professional circles, but also among a wider audience. This award underlines the importance of Czech cinema on the international scene and strengthens DocPoint's reputation as a festival presenting quality documentary works.
Helsinki documentary film festival also included a film by Czech director Filip Remunda “Happiness to All” which underlined the significant success of the Czech documentary scene.
The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Helsinki was one of the partners of the festival.
