Invitation to a Recital of The Little Prince at the Celebration of the European Day of Languages

We sincerely invite you to a literary afternoon taking place on Friday, 26 September 2025, from 16:30 to 17:30 at the Helsinki Central Library Oodi (Töölönlahdenkatu 4). The event is being held to mark the European Day of Languages, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year.

Visitors will have a unique opportunity to experience the linguistic diversity of Europe through the timeless masterpiece The Little Prince by French author Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, one of the most translated books in the world. An excerpt from this story of friendship, love and the search for meaning of life will be presented in several European languages – including Czech – as well as in sign languages. The Finnish version will be read by translator Lena Talvio, who will present her own 2015 translation of the work.

The event is free of charge and open to all. Come and celebrate this day with us – we look forward to seeing you on the Saarikoski rug on the 3rd floor of Oodi!
