Dresden Visa Centre is primarily designed to receive applications for long-term residence titles from non-EU citizens who are long-term/permanent residents in a Schengen Area, European microstate or in Cyprus and who are continuously residing those states for a period of at least 2 years. 

Applications for long-term residence permits can also be submitted by third-country nationals who are exempt from the territorial consular competence rule.

We usually respond to specific email enquiries within 5 working days.

Telephone enquiries about the visa process are answered by Dresden Visa Centre only: Monday - Friday, 14:00 - 15:30.

Dresden Visa Centre does not provide information about the visa procedure during the legal period of processing the application. Once the application has been decided, Dresden Visa Centre will contact the applicant. The status of a long-term visa/residence permit application can be checked here.

Visa issuance: Tuesday and Thursday, 14 - 15:30 (no appointment needed).

 

TERRITORIAL COMPETENCE

When applying for a long-term visa or a residence permit or permanent residence permit, territorial consular competence rule applies. An applicant can apply through Dresden Visa Centre, provided that he or she is continuously residing in one of the Schengen states or a European microstate for a period of at least 2 years. Please note: this condition does not applied to a holder of a long-term (national) D visa.

Territorial competence of Dresden Visa Centre: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France (including overseas territories), Germany, Greece, Iceland, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Vatican City.

 

VISA FEES

Dresden Visa Centre collects visa fees cashless via credit card or payment application. Exceptionally, in justified cases, visa fees can be paid in cash in EUR. Visa fees paid by cashless payment card or app are set and collected in CZK.

Following payment cards and applications are accepted: Mastercard, Mastercard Electronic, Maestra, VISA, VISA Electron, VPay, Diners Club, Discover, JCB, Union Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Garmin Pay.

 

WORKING LANGUAGE

The languages spoken during the visa procedure at Dresden Visa Centre are Czech and English. If the applicant does not speak either of these languages, it is his/her responsibility to arrange for an interpreter at his/her own expense for the procedure for long-term visa applications and residence permits. The interview shall always be conducted in Czech or English. The applicant who does not speak Czech or English shall be obliged to arrange for an interpreter at his/her own expense.
