Seven producers from the Czech Republic presented their excellent wines at the Vinexpo New York on March 9 and 10, 2022. The official participation at the fair, together with a guided “master class” tasting, was organized by Petr Ježek, an agricultural diplomat of the Czech Embassy in Washington, D.C. together with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic and the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in New York. The involvement at the event was a part of the economic diplomacy project.
Importers, distributors, the professional public and wine lovers and connoisseurs had the opportunity to appreciate the quality of Moravian wines once again at the prestigious New York wine fair Vinexpo after a two-year absence caused by the covid-19 pandemic. At the exhibit booth were presented and tasted wines from Krásná Hora, Sonberk, Ludwig, Marcinčák, Thaya, Baloun and Spěvák wineries, some of which are already active on a very competitive US market.
The Consul General of the Czech Republic in New York, Arnošt Kareš and his deputy Lucie Hindlsová also endorsed the Moravian winemakers at the fair. The Consul General Arnošt Kareš said to the representatives of wineries: “I am sure that quality batches of Moravian wines will find their consumers on the competitive US market. The professional facilities of the Bohemian National Hall in Manhattan, i.e. the residence of the Consulate General, are open for corporate presentations of Moravian winemakers and their guided tastings for importers and distributors".
