Petr Zuska and Jen Shyu Performance as Part of the “Prague – New York Effects” Project

On April 21, 2016, second part of the Czech Centre in New York Project called “Prague – New York Effects” took place in the Bohemian National Hall. The performance was delivered by Director of Czech National Theatre Ballet Petr Zuska and New York based multiinestrumentalist and vocalist Jen Shyu.
The “Prague – New York Effects Project” brings together Czech and New York based artists to work on new piece of art that is later on presented to the public in world premiere in New York and is followed by performances in Washington D.C. and Prague. In this case, the project brought together acknowledged Czech dancer and choreographer Petr Zuska and New York based musician Jen Shyu. Expressive performance that was born during ten days in the premises of the Bohemian National Hall in New York depicted the cycle of human life from the creation till the death through original combination of alternative music and modern ballet while main performers also switched their roles through the performance.
Among the viewers was present apart from Consul General Martin Dvořák also Czech Ambassador to the US Petr Gandalovič. The audience delivered long lasting applause and after the performance had a chance to discuss with the performers during a Q and A session.
