
Dr. Válek, Director of the International Law Department, Presented the reports of the CAHDI to the Committee of Ministers
The Committee of Legal Advisers on Public International Law (CAHDI) deals with questions of international law, for instance with the immunities of States and international organizations, reservations to treaties and international humanitarian law.
Dr. Petr Válek, the Director of the International Law Department of the MFA of the Czech Republic, currently serves as the Chairman of CAHDI. At the session of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg on June 12, 2019, he presented the reports of the two last meetings of CAHDI and, furthermore, expressed his thoughts on the future of this Committee. Many Member States of the Council of Europe, including the Czech Republic through its Ambassador Emil Ruffer, the Chairman of the Committee of Minister’s Rapporteur Group on Legal Cooperation (GR-J), highly appreciated the outcomes of CAHDI and voiced their support to this Committee.
