Irrigation improves crop growth allowing farmers to grow it on a consistent schedule, which eventually results in more reliable food supplies. Bearing this in mind, the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Chicago in close cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic and Nebraska Department of Economic Development co-hosted a thought-provoking online roundtable on irrigation featuring exceptional speakers both from Czechia and Nebraska across public, academic and business spheres. 

The forum was initiated by Opening Remarks delivered by the Consul General of the Czech Republic in Chicago, Mr Jakub Utěšený, and special message of the Governor of Nebraska, Mr Jim Pillen. The roundtable attracted dozens of attendees from academia, private and public sector. The main aim of the roundtable was to deepen Czech-Nebraska ties on many different levels. This key objective was fulfilled as the attendees not shared their knowledge and expertise, but also managed to make new connections in the field.
