Trio Bohémo will run courses in Canberra for young and emerging Australian talents from the ANU (Australian National University).

The Embassy of the Czech Republic and the members of the musical trio discussed the possibilities of cooperation in the future. We wish you many more successes!

 

About Trio Bohémo:

After few months following their establishment, they have been awarded 2nd prize at the prestigious Gianni Bergamo Award in Lugano (Switzerland). Following this success, the trio has been selected to join the Le Dimore del Quartetto network, which later awarded them prize for the ensemble of the year 2021. In summer 2021, they were awarded special prizes for the Best Interpretation of the Work of Viennese Classicism, Czech Contemporary Chamber Music and Work by Bohuslav Martinů at ISA Festival in Austria. Only few days later, they won the first edition of the International Filippo Nicosia Award in Italy. In September 2021, the trio won the first prize and the prize of the audience at the International Johannes Brahms Competition in Austria. In October 2021, they won the International Parkhouse Award in London, UK and in February 2022 the trio was guest of the BBC Radio 3 In Tune show. In March 2022 the trio won first prize and prize for the best interpretation of S. Vainiunas composition at the International Stasys Vainiunas Chamber Music Competition in Vilnius, Lithuania. Only a week later they were awarded second prize (with no first prize awarded) and prize for the best performance of contemporary piece at the International Joseph Joachim Competition in Weimar, Germany. In the summer 2022 the trio was awarded the Piano Chamber Music Award for the best chamber music group with piano at the ISA Festival in Austria. In March 2023 they were awarded first prize, prize for the best interpretation of Joseph Haydn and the audience prize at the International Joseph Haydn Chamber Music Competition in Vienna, Austria. In June 2023 the trio was awarded the Prize of the Czech Chamber Music Society.​

For the 2022/23 season, the trio was selected for the Britten Pears Young Artist Programme. The other highlights of the season include recitals in Wigmore Hall (London), Stoller Hall (Manchester), Solti Hall (Budapest) and appearances at festivals such as Classix Festival (Romania) or Shaldon Festival (UK). The trio will perform in various European countries such as Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Italy or the United Kingdom.​

In the past season they had their debut recital in Viennese Musikverein and performed at festivals such as Prague Spring Festival (Czech Republic), Schwarzwald Musikfestival (Germany), Lago Maggiore Musica (Italy) or Gent Festival van Vlaanderen (Belgium).​

In the years 2020-2022 they have been members of the European Chamber Music Academy, studying under the guidance of professors such as Hatto Beyerle, Johannes Meissl, Patrick Jüdt or Avedis Kouyoumdjian.​

Thanks to the exceptionally generous support of Dr. Jan Telenský, Matouš plays on a very fine Matteo Goffriller violin. Kristina plays on a beautiful cello by Fausto Maria Bertucci.
