Following the celebration of the Establishment of an Independent Czechoslovak State at the Czech Embassy in Canberra, a reception on the occasion of this important day was also held at the National Portrait Gallery in Wellington on 30th October.
This marks the first official event celebrating the National Day of the Czech Republic in New Zealand in 25 years. The New Zealand Administration was represented at the event by the Chief of Protocol Mr. Michael Swain. The celebration enjoyed an abundant participation of Czech compatriots living in New Zealand.
