
Employment offer - full-time position of Diplomatic Assistant, Czech Embassy Canberra

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Canberra is seeking a new team member for the full-time position of Diplomatic Assistant (38 hours a week).
The role:
- Written and verbal communication, both in-person and via telephone, with Czech, Australian and New Zealand subjects. Leading official correspondence with political and diplomatic partners of the Embassy.
- Translation both to and from English.
- Organisation of events and public diplomacy activities (cultural functions).
- Processing multimedia (e.g. photographs and filming videos and their postproduction and presentation on the Embassy’s website and social networks.
- Supportive tasks and administration related to the operation of the Embassy.
Requirements:
- Excellent communicative abilities including:
- Outstanding knowledge of English - both spoken and written (ideally at the level of a native speaker).
- Knowledge of Czech - both spoken and written.
- Interest in the Czech Republic and Australia.
- Active approach to completing tasks and flexibility – including the ability to occasionally work outside normal working hours (with compensation).
- Excellent knowledge of work with computers and experience creating multimedia content for social networks.
- Clean criminal record both in Australia and the Czech Republic.
- The applicant must meet the immigration requirements for long-term stay and full-time work in Austalia – i.e. long-term visa (not a student visa), permanent residency, or Australian citizenship.
