ASHOM visiting "NEW ERA" exhibition

On Friday, 1 March 2024, the "NEW ERA" exhibition of contemporary Czech art and design was held at the Czech Embassy in Canberra and presented to the members of ASHOM

Invited by Mr Timothy Tyrer, husband of the Czech Ambassador, the members of the Association of Spouses of Heads of Mission (ASHOM) gathered at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Canberra to view an exquisite exhibition titled "NEW ERA", showcasing the talents of Czech contemporary artists and designers.

Upon arrival, both Jana and Timothy Tyrer greeted the guests and shortly after the opening, the director of the Melbourne FIN Gallery, Ms. Dominika Kúthová, presented the exhibition and provided a brief introduction to the artists and their artworks. The ASHOM guests spend a considerable time viewing the exhibition while being treated to homemade Czech traditional delicates such as open-face sandwiches and Moravian traditional cakes, setting a delightful tone for the event.

As the exhibition was drawing to a close, attendees were departing with a deeper appreciation for Czech artistry and a renewed sense of cultural connection. The "NEW ERA" exhibition at the Czech Embassy demonstrated how art can bring together people from various backgrounds, regardless of their origins.

Until 10 March 2024, the exhibition NEW ERA of the following artists will be on display at the Embassy:

  • Anna Jožová, Bára Prášilová, Ester Parásková, David Krňanský, Jiří Krejčiřík, Laura Limbourg, and Tadeáš Podracký.
