Legalisation of documents
The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Canberra is authorised to verify copies of documents, translations, signatures, and official stamps.
1. LEGALISATION / VERIFICATION OF A COPY OF THE DOCUMENT
The original document and a copy, which will be subsequently verified for accuracy, must be submitted. The fee is 300 CZK and 150 CZK for registration in the Special Registry Office Brno, respectively, converted to AUD. If the document is not intended for use in the Czech Republic, the applicant may also request a legalisation clause in English.
Important note As a rule, copies of an identity card, military ID card, passport or other ID, passbook, cheque, lottery ticket, betting slip, geometric plan, drawing and technical drawing are not certified.
2. LEGALISATION / VERIFICATION OF SIGNATURE
Can only be done in the personal presence of the applicant upon presentation of a valid document with his photograph and signature. The fee is 250 CZK converted to AUD, and signature verification of certain documents is free of charge.
3. LEGALISATION / VERIFICATION OF TRANSLATION
From English to Czech or vice versa. The fee is 300 CZK and 150 CZK for registration in the Special Registry Office Brno, respectively, converted to AUD. If the document is not intended for use in the Czech Republic, the applicant may also request a certification clause in English.
