Call for Proposals - Small Scale Development Projects 2025

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Cairo is announcing its annual call for proposals for Local Small Scale Projects (SSP) for 2025. Small Scale Projects (SSP) are one of the instruments of the development cooperation of the Czech Republic. SSP present a valuable contribution to the local development cause in conformity with the beneficiary country’s development aims. 

The embassy invites proposals for development projects that address critical social and intersectoral issues related to Agenda 2030. Building on previous projects, we welcome initiatives aimed at supporting empowerment of underprivileged society groups and communities. The projects should be sustainable, reflecting the commitment to fostering enduring, positive change in both  lives and surroundings of affected individuals.

 

SPECIFICATION

• Implementer of the SSP is a local subject with legal personality in the country of the project’s implementation,

• The implementer must be eligible to sign a contract with MFA CZ that establishes jurisdiction of Czech laws and Czech courts,

• Czech financial contribution for the project is within the range of CZK 200,000 (approx. EUR 8,200) and CZK 500,000 (approx. EUR 20,000) and the total cost of salary/fee, subsistence allowance , accommodation, travel cost and eventual insurance and vaccination of the experts must not exceed 25 % of the project´s total costs,

• Given funds are solely allocated to non-political and non-governmental organisations, 

• Submitted proposals can be changed based on notice  from the embassy until the deadline set by the embassy.

 

IMPLEMENTATION

• Implementation of the project can be started only after signing the contract,

• Project implementation must not exceed 31st of October of the relevant (project billing must also be done by this date),

• SSP does not include the payment of the implementer’s administrative costs,

• The financial amount approved for the implementation of the SSP in CZK is also binding for the conversion to foreign currency,

• One of the crucial conditions is a project sustainability (meaning the project would be able to run in the future without further financial support),

• Tangible assents of the project should be marked with a logo of the Czech Development Cooperation. In the case of project’s intangible assets, it is always necessary to mention the financial support of the Czech Development Cooperation,

• The transfer of funds between items in the approved identification form must be justified in writing to the embassy and described in the final report,

TERMINATION

• The project implementer is obliged to submit a written final project report, incl. financial report to the embassy no later than one month after the end of the project,

• The photo documentation of the project outcomes must be attached to the final report by the implementer.

 

HOW TO APPLY

All applications for the Small Scale Projects funding must contain:

 

• Copy of the applicant´s legal personality document  (e. g. founding charter, license) approved by relevant Egyptian, Sudanese or Eritrean authorities (based on a country of residence);

• Copy of document authorizing the signing person to act on the applicant’s behalf;

• Identification Form attached both as: 

1) Excel file – the editable filled out Identification Form.

2) PDF file – scan of signed and stamped Identification Form 

 

All applications have to be sent to the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Cairo in electronic form until 5 October 2024 to email address: cairo.info@mzv.gov.cz

All documents must be submitted in Czech or English language. Information stated in Identification Forms in Excel and PDF file must be identical. 

Only complete applications submitted in this form and in line with these instructions will be admitted to evaluation.
