The life of Olympic runner Emil Zátopek is depicted in the exhibition.
Selected excerpts from Jan Novák's comic novel, illustrated by Jaromír 99, capture his most outstanding achievements - three gold medals at the 1952 Helsinki Summer Olympics, for the 5,000 meters, 10,000 meters, and marathon and also his first meeting with the love of his life, Dana.
The opening of the exhibition took place on August 15 in the presence of Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Egypt Mr. Ivan Jukl and many more notable guests from the ranks of diplomats, artists, compatriots and other partners, among others Ambassador of Finland to Egypt Mr. Pekka Kosonen and Ms. Yara Shalaby, the first Egyptian female cross country rally champion. The project is organised by the Czech Centres and the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Cairo.
The exhibition is located directly on the wall of the Embassy and will be available to the public until the 5th November 2023. The texts are in Arabic, but English and Czech translation is available on spot as well.
There will be several accompanying events taking place within this exhibition project frame. More info to be found on the Facebook page.
