On the occasion of the Presidency of the Czech Republic in the Council of the European Union, the Embassy of the Czech Republic is organizing the art exhibition "Quiet Waters, Torn Moss", which will be officially opened on November 22 at 6:00 p.m.

It will take place from November 22 to December 12, 2022 at the prominent Egyptian art center El Nahda Association for Scientific and Cultural Renaissance – Jesuit Roof Gallery (15 El Mahrany Street, El Fagala, Ramses, Cairo).

The exhibition of Czech artists deals with the way of experiencing nature and its reflection. To stop for a moment, to look again at the previously known, to let yourself be influenced by something as familiar and almost ordinary to the Czechs as a walk in the forest. From this inner seclusion in nature and inspiration from the forest, water, natural processes and organic forms, the works in the exhibition will also have a critical undertone within the framework of the negative impact of human action on nature. Various media will be represented at the exhibition, as each of the artists will bring their own, unique perspective – from photography and drawing to video and sound installation.

This is very crucial theme also in regards to the COP 27 climate conference being held this November in Sharm al Sheikh. The exhibition will be also accompanied by guided tour led by Czech artists.

Exhibiting artists: Jaromír Harna, Pavel Skrott, Jan Kuntoš, Petr Košárek, Magdalena Dubnová

Curator: Magdalena Dubnová
