On 16 October, the Embassies of Czech and Slovak Republics held a joint national day reception in Vigadó. The reception marked the anniversary of the founding of Czechoslovakia.
The Czech and Slovak reception took place on 16th October from 12 until 14 o´clock in the palace of Vigadó, a beautiful and highly representative building owned by the Hungarian state. The guests of the reception had an opportunity to taste a wide range of Czech and Slovak food and drinks and to listen to Czech, Slovak and Hungarian folk songs performed by Ondráš, a Moravian folk group. The official program included installment of the national flags by the Colour Guards of Czech and Slovak Armies, performance of Czech, Slovak, Hungarian and European anthems by the Military Band of the Army of the Czech Republic and by Ozvěna, a vocal band of Hungarian Slovaks, and speeches by Czech and Slovak Ambassadors joined by the President of the Constitutional Court of Hungary.
We thank donors for helping significantly in the organization of the reception. Our thanks also go to Embassy of Slovakia, Czech Centre, Slovak Institute, CzechTrade, Vigadó, Army of the Czech Republic, Ondráš and Ozvěna for their cooperation in preparing and running the reception.
