Summer School of Slavonic Studies 2023

Information about the scholarship courses of Czech language in the Czech Republic. The Czech Embassy´s closing date for applications is 15 March 2023.

The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic annually offers scholarships to foreign nationals, pursuant to bilateral intergovernmental or departmental agreements concluded with a number of countries.

The Summer Schools of Slavonic Studies offering Czech language courses are organised by several public universities in the Czech Republic.

In 2023 there are 4 spots for applicants from Romania at the following universities:

1 place - Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University in Brno, 22 July – 19 August 2023

2 places - Faculty of Arts, Palacky University in Olomouc, 15 July – 13 August 2023 

1 place - Faculty of Arts, University of South Bohemia in Ceske Budejovice, 13 August – 4 September 2023

The courses are designed for foreign students, professionals (teachers, translators, interpreters) and academics in the field of Czech or Slavic studies. A broad scope of courses invites all those who are interested in the Czech language, literature, history and culture. An applicant has to be older than age of 18.

Each scholarship consists of free board and lodging, coverage of course fees and free access to cultural events which are part of the course programme. 

General information about the scholarship conditions and the application form are published on the English website of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic.
Important: It is required to participate in the whole course of the Summer Schools of Slavonic Studies and not miss more than 4 days of classes (a statement is a part of an application).

To apply please fill up the application form and send together with your CV in Czech or English to the following address by 15 March 2023 at the latest:

The successful applicants will be notified directly by the University. The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Bucharest can accept only printed and signed applications. Any scholarship applications sent directly to the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports or to the institution providing Summer School courses by the individual applicants will not be processed.

Please note that the Summer School courses are open also to foreign nationals who do not hold or cannot apply for the aforementioned scholarships and wish to bear the related expenses themselves. Applications are to be filled and sent directly to the selected institution in this case.
