First, she visited the IMEC institute in Leuven, a global leader in translating innovative solutions into industrial applications. She discussed with representatives of its management the possibilities for the involvement of Czech scientists and research institutions in the areas IMEC deals with. 

In the evening, the Minister attended a performance of Dejvice Theatre's "Elegance of the Molecule", which took place at the Royal Flemish Theatre - KVS Box in the centre of Brussels. The Minister at the beginning of this performance gave a speech devoted to the research of the two phenomenal chemists - Czech A. Holý and the Belgian E. De Clercq, who, with their American colleague, the chemist J. Martin, discovered and subsequently marketed a crucial cure for HIV. 

The programme of H. Langšádlová on 7 September was again held in Leuven, one of the main centres of science and research in Belgium. The Minister attended part of the programme of a symposium jointly organised by the Rega Institute of the Catholic University of Leuven and the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences. This symposium is a continuation of the collaboration between Prof. Holý and De Clercq and the current projects of these two institutions. 

The Minister's visit ended with a meeting at the Office for Technology Transfer at the Catholic University of Leuven with the Director General of the University, Prof. K. Debacker, and Dr. M. Hinul, Head of the Office for Technology Transfer. 

During her visit, the Minister was accompanied by the Director of her Cabinet Jana Soukupová, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Belgium Pavel Klucký, and his deputy Eva Kordová.
