The MEDEVAC ophthalmology team conducted surgeries in Beirut

The seventh ophthalmology mission under the MEDEVAC assistance program has successfully completed its operation in Lebanon. A team of ophthalmologists from the General University Hospital conducted eye surgeries at the Rafik Hariri State Hospital (RHUH) from 10 to 14 June 2024, where they performed 68 operations on patients with cataracts.
The MEDEVAC assistance program in Lebanon has been running since 2019, over 550 patients have already been treated. The identification and selection of patients from socially vulnerable communities took place in cooperation with the Lebanese non-governmental organization Amel Association International.
