Meeting with the China‑Europe Association for Technical & Economic Cooperation (CEATEC)

A meeting between the Vice President of the China‑Europe Association for Technical & Economic Cooperation (CEATEC), Mr. Pan Feng, and the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to China, Mr. Martin Tomčo, outlined opportunities for potential cooperation.

During the meeting held at the Embassy on 28 April, the CEATEC association presented its role in supporting trade exchange between Europe and China. This role primarily consists of providing direct support to individual companies through the organization of trade fairs as well as by offering the necessary know‑how prior to entering the Chinese market.

The association, which is a non‑profit organization established by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, has long been active in the field of Europe–China trade relations. Its main activities include advisory services as well as the organization of trade fairs, with a particular focus on products with Geographical Indication (GI) protection. In addition to agricultural products, the association is currently also active in the automotive sector.

One of the topics discussed during the meeting was also the possible expansion of direct flights between the Czech Republic and the People’s Republic of China.
