Visa and Consular section

The Consular and Visa Section of the Embassy of the Czech republic in Beijing covers the following cities, provinces and autonomous regions at the territory of the People's Republic of China: the cities of Beijing, Chongqing and Tianjin, the provinces: Fujian, Gansu, Guangdong, Guizhou, Hainan, Hebei, Heilongjiang, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi, Jilin, Liaoning, Qinghai, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Shandong, Sichuan, Yunnan and autonomous regions: Guangxi, Inner Mongolia, Ningxia, Tibet and Xinjiang.

The provinces Anhui, Zhejiang, Jiangsu and the city of Shanghai fall under the Consulate General in Shanghai.

Special Administrative zones Hong Kong and Macao fall under the Consulate General in Hong Kong.

ATTENTION! Due to local festivities, the consulate's services for the general public are limited from 27 to 31 January 2025. Without a specifically scheduled appointment to lodge an application for a long-term visa/residence, it will not be possible to provide visa services. The decision for long-term visas can be collected on an alternative date, namely 24 January 2025. Consular assistance for Czech citizens is not affected by this measure.

09:30-11:00 – consular services (register, travel documents, data boxes)

* Obligation to arrange a date for personal submission of the application in advance.
** Without the obligation to make an appointment in advance for the personal submission of an application.

Visa / residence permit fees are collected when applying in cash in Chinese jüan (CNY).

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Beijing communicates in Czech and English when processing visa and residence permit applications. If the applicant understands neither of these languages, he/she must arrange for an interpreter when applying for a long-term visa / residence permit, at his/her costs. Examinations are conducted in Czech only. If the applicant does not speak Czech, he/she must arrange for an interpreter for the purposes of examination, at his/her costs.

HOLIDAYS 2025 – Consulate closed to the public

CZECH:

Based on a parliamentary proposal, Act No. 245/2000 Coll., on public holidays, other public holidays, significant days and days of rest, was adopted.

Public holidays are:

January 1 - Day of the Restoration of the Independent Czech State,

May 8 - Victory Day,

July 5 - Day of the Slavic Evangelists Cyril and Methodius,

July 6 - Day of tof Master Jan Hus,

September 28 - Day of Czech Statehood,

October 28 - Day of the Establishment of the Independent Czechoslovak State,

November 17 - Day of the Fight for Freedom and Democracy.

From a labor law perspective, other holidays have the same significance, which, like public holidays, are days of rest.

Other holidays are:

January 1 - New Year,

March 29 - Good Friday,

April 1 - Easter Monday,

May 1 - Labor Day,

December 24 - Christmas Eve,

December 25 - Boxing Day,

December 26 - Boxing Day.
