Beijing hosted the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS 2016) from May 28 to June 1, 2016 and Czech companies presented themselves at the Fair in the areas of financial, architectural, environmental and tourism services.
The importance of the services sector in the Chinese economy increases every year. For the first time in 2015, services represented more than 50% of the Chinese GDP. CIFTIS gave a picture of the Chinese services sector and also offered a good opportunity for foreign companies to present their services for the Chinese market.
The Czech stand of 130m2 was represented by nine Czech services companies: Home Credit, Kogaa Architecture Studio, Advanced Materials, Michael Travel, Jalta Boutique Hotel, International Youth Forum, Invia, Premiant City Tour and Czechia Weddings and Meetings. The Czech stand was a space for these companies to promote their services and hold B2B meetings with their partners. With the support of CzechTourism and Lobkowicz brewery the guests at the Czech stand also had an opportunity to taste some of the attractions of Czech Republic.
The Czech stand had the pleasure to receive the visit of Chinese Vice-Premier Wang Yang.
Czech participation at CIFTIS was part of a project of economic diplomacy of the Czech Foreign Ministry. It was also a part of the Czech Days in Bohai Region, during which Czech Republic is promoting Czech services, tourism and agricultural products in the Bohai Region – Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei. The main partners of Czech Days are Škoda Auto, Home Credit and CEFC.
