
Czech Republic attends the biggest, longest and greenest fair Beijing Expo

Beijing Expo 2019, know as International Horticultural Exhibition 2019, is one of China's largest international events this year alongside the Belt and Road Forum, bearing in mind also its duration - half a year. The exhibition is organized by the Beijing Municipal Government and held under the auspices of the Chinese central government. The exhibition was officially opened by president Xi.
The Expo carries the motto “Live green, live better”. The aim of the event is to support the green development of not only Beijing, but also the whole world. It is to confirm its support to the Paris climate agreement.
The Czech Republic participates at the fair with a national exhibition of 200 m2, entitled “Land of Green Tradition and Innovation”. Its exposition focuses on agriculture and food industry (agricultural products, especially beer, wine, plum brandy, dairy products, etc.), environment (air technological solutions - nanofiber membranes and solutions of the company Respilon), traditional Czech brands (Škoda, Petrof, Czech crystal glass) and their promotion through Czech Innovation Expo and e-commerce channels (exhibits carry QR codes that links the customer to Czech e-commerce stores and company flagship stores on selected Chinese e-commerce platforms). The event has not only a presentational dimension, but also a commercial one.
The Czech Republic is represented in the above mentioned sectors by the following brands: beers, wines or liqueurs are represented by Ludwig, R. Jelinek, Baron Hildprandt, Budweiser Budvar, Litovel, Zubr, Czech Royal Beer, Lokowicz brands; mineral springs by Zaječická hořká, Bílinská kyselka, Vincentka and Fromin; delicious condiments by Be Food and Marlenka companies. Present are also the latest technologies represented by nanofiber products from the Respilon company, the “green” model of Škoda cars or by Czech Innovation Expo introduced by Czech Centers. The exposition is decorated with traditional Czech glass and porcelain of the companies Crystalite Bohemia, Crystalex or Křehký, as well as by design glass lighting with natural motifs of the Brokis brand. Wood production is embodied by Ton, traditional Czech producer of bent chairs, and Petrof, the famous Czech piano maker.
The Czech exhibition, being very popular with Chinese visitors, was inaugurated by Czech President Mr. Miloš Zeman, who visited Beijing at the invitation of the Chinese President Mr. Xi Jinping for the 2nd Belt and Road Forum and the opening ceremony of Beijing Expo. The Czech exhibition is held under the auspices of the Minister of Agriculture of the Czech Republic Mr. Miroslav Toman.
The presentation of the Czech Republic at the Beijing Expo 2019 is part of a series of activities called Czech Days, which are organized by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Beijing. The event is also part of the events of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Czech Republic and the People's Republic of China.
