On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of cooperation between the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and China, Mr. Angel Gurría, Secretary-General of the OECD visited Beijing from March 18 – 23, 2015. He presented the 2015 OECD Economic Survey of China and had several meetings with high-level officials. Representatives of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Beijing attended the conference “China and the OECD at 20 and Beyond”.
Czech Republic has been a member of the OECD since 1995 and the organisation significantly contributed to the preparation of Czech Republic’s accession into the European Union. China as one of the Key Partners to the OECD has been in cooperation with this significant international organisation, which is made up of the world’s 34 economically most developed countries, also for two decades.
Gurría presented the OECD Economic Survey of China on March 20, 2015 in Beijing. OECD assesses the current slowdown in the Chinese economy as an opportunity to focus on the quality of economic growth. Through appropriate reforms, China will ensure long-term stable and sustainable economic development. After GDP growth of 7.4% in 2014, the OECD expects that China's GDP will grow by 7% this year and growth should amount to 6.9% in 2016.
