Czech Republic at the Chinese Civil Aviation Forum

Czech Republic was an active participant at the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) Development Forum, which took place in Beijing on the 24th and 25th of June 2015. The Czech Ambassador to China L. Sečka introduced Czech civil aviation projects and confirmed the interest of Czech companies to cooperate with Chinese partners. The Forum was also attended by the Vicepresident of the Light Aircraft Association of the Czech Republic Jan Fridrich.

In his speech, Ambassador L. Sečka focused on cooperation between Czech Republic and China in the area of civil aviation. He mentioned specific aviation projects which are related to the One Belt One Road Strategy. One such project is the direct flight Prague – Beijing, which will become operational this year. Another form of cooperation could be the use of Czech planes for regional transport in the provinces of western China.

The Forum showed that China is preparing a series of extensive investments in the civil aviation sector in the coming years. Czech aviation has built a good reputation in China and there is a mutual interest for cooperation. Czech aviation companies will take part in some other Chinese aviation fairs this year (eg. Xian, Mianyang) where they will have another opportunity to present themselves to Chinese partners and work on common projects.
