Czech GA back in China again - "double landing" in Mianyang and Xian

In less than one month, Czech general aviation (GA) has "landed" twice in China. After last year's successful presentations at the Zhuhai Airshow and at the West China international Fair in Chengdu, Czech GA manufacturers, members of the so called "A-Z solution for Chinese General Aviation",  are back with even more products and solutions to be shared with Chinese potential customers and to be marketed in China. Contacts are being maintained at the official level as well, between Civil Aviation Administration of China and Ministry of Transport of the Czech Republic, Light Aircraft Association of the Czech Republic and other related parties.

At the end of September the biggest ever presentation of Czech GA has been organized by Chengdu CzechTrade Office in cooperation with local partners during the 3rd International High-tech Expo of China (Mianyang) Science and Technology City. Four ultralight aircrafts from TL-Ultralight, Skyleader and Direct Fly companies, the flight simulator from Simulatory Letov, the engine produced by PBS Velká Bíteš with UNIS control unit and the propeller from Avia Propeller company. The pilot training school FAIR was also present, as well as representatives of Nirvana, a paramotor producer. Many other Czech companies from other sectors were also prsented at the stand, including Skoda Auto, machinery companies TOS Kurim and TOS Kunming and typical Czech food products like beer. Mr. Jan Kohout, adviser to the president of the Czech Republic, headed the Czech delegation.  Ladislav Graner, Director of the CzechTrade office in Chengdu has summarized the event: "Czech companies are truly devoted to the Chinese GA market development and they are putting their heart into sharing their knowledge and experience with Chinese partners. Sichuan has also witnessed some of the first concrete projects of the so called A-Z solution. Although most of them are at their early stage, it is clearly visible, that Czech GA has  already been strongly assosiated with Sichuan and that Czech and Chinese companies will be writing the history of GA development in Sichuan together."

Another presentation of the Czech A-Z sotution has been prepared by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in China as part of the project of economic diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic in cooperation with the Light Aircraft Association of the Czech Republic in Xian, at this year's China International General Aviation Convention held from 15th to 19th of October. Companies like TL-Ultralight, Nirvana, PBS Velka Bites are therefore back in China once again. Airport infrastructure company Transcon has also joined in, presenting among other things a unique solution for control towers. Filosofy of the Czech stand in Xian, however, is the same as the filosofy behind the whole  "A-Z solution", which is the promotion and introduction of a complex solution, that could be of use in developement of Chinese GA, sharing the unique experience in bilding the GA system in the Czech Republic from the beginning in the past 25 years.

Vice president of Light Aircraft Association Mr. Jan Fridrich has the following comments that he will be sharing with expert audience on 18th October in Xian during his speech: "It may sound as a cliche, but we are here to assist our Chinese colleagues in making the system of GA the best possible, so that once China becomes the biggest GA market in the world, it is has potential for it, if al lis done right. First of all in terms of legislation, but also operation, access to the latest technology and qualified personell. For GA, and believe me, I have been involved in it for the most part of my career now, also I am a pilot, the simplier and the more strigthforward the system, the better. It is not necessary to spend so much time and energy on initial airworthiness, instead more emphasis should be given to training and prevention. But most importantly access to the lower airspace is key. Airplanes without the air are like fish without water!"

World famous 19 seats commuter plane L410 pruduced by the Czech company Aircraft Industry also known as Let Kunovice has also "flew in", all the way from the Czech Republic, to introduce an option for the short distance passenger transport in China. The company stand can be found at Pucheng Airport, H011. Ms. Klara Jurcova, Head of Economic section at the Embassy believes the product will soon find its first customers, she explains: "Especially now, when Aircraft Industries have started cooperation with China Aviation Supplies Company, one of the potential contributions of the Czech Republic to the Belt and Road Initiative in the form of increased connectivity of Chinese provinces with the L410 aircrafts might soon become a reality." Tomas Mertl, company export manager, adds: "L410 is a world class product that has been exported to many countries, including in Asia, and China is the next logical step for us. Together with our new partner in China , we are doing our best to make sure that Chinese customers can soon experience the aircraft by themselves and put them to practical use here.

Aviation, especially but not exlusively GA, also with the recent hightlight of opening the direct flight conncetion from Beijing do Prague,  is just one of many sectors discussed bilaterally between the Czech Republic and China. Bilateral relations are getting deeper into concrete projects of collaboration and the up-comming visit of the Czech Premier Mr. Bohuslav Sobotka in November will definitely be an important step in finding more and more concrete projects in areas of common interest across many sectors.
