
Minister Zaorálek meets his Chinese counterpart

Czech Minister of Foreign Affairs Lubomír Zaorálek met with Minister of Foreign Affairs from People’s Republic of China Wang Yi. They encountered in Černín palace on 13th October during Wang Yi’s two day official visit to Czech Republic.
During the meeting minsters evaluated last year’s development of mutual relations. “It’s a historic visit after 14 years,” commented minister Zaorálek on Wang Yi’s arrival.
“We reviewed last year’s development and we both consider it as very successful. Minister Wang Yi confirmed Xi Jinping’s visit next year. Another discussed topic was preparation of Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka’s visit to China that will take place at the end of this year. We are prepared to lead a broad dialogue that will include economic questions and human rights issues,” added Zaorálek.
Both ministers appreciated development in the economic cooperation that improved also thanks to recent high-level visits. “I consider it as a very successful chapter. The level of investment already reaches billions of Czech Crowns, and not just in financial department but also in energetics. It will be the main topic of Czech Prime Minister’s visit to China.
Both heads of diplomacy also praised the launch of direct air-line between Praha and Beijing that will enable more mutual touristic and business visits.
Ministers discussed the possibilities of strengthening further cooperation in many areas and levels, including EU-China Strategic Partnership and platform 16+1. They also exchanged their opinions on various regional and global issues.
During his stay Minister Wang Yi also met with Czech president Miloš Zeman and Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka.
