Ambassador Bedřich Kopecký presented his letters of credence to the president of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping

On Monday 29. February 2016, Ambassador Bedřich Kopecký presented his letters of credence to the president of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, assuming thereby formally his position as the ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to the People´s Republic of China.
In interview after presenting letters of credence president Xi Jinping emphasised the importance of his upcoming official visit to the Czech Republic, which will undoubtedly contribute in a fundamental manner to the development of bilateral relations.
Ambassador B. Kopecký emphasised that president Miloš Zeman perceives the historical importance of the visit (the first ever) in a similar manner and is likewise convinced of the fundamental effect it will have on the development of bilateral relations in all areas.
