On February 9, 2021, a summit of the participating countries in the 17 + 1 platform, bringing together China and countries of Central and Eastern Europe and the Balkans took place in the form of a video conference. President Miloš Zeman, who delivered a speech, represented the Czech Republic. The outcome of the summit, agreed by all participating states, is a list of activities for 2021.
On this occasion, negotiations between the Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic and the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China regarding conditions for an export of compound feed to China were concluded. This is an important step for Czech producers, which opens their door to China, where the demand for quality feed is considerable. An import registration of Czech producers of pet food, feed additives and compound feed was also completed, renewed or expanded, thus closing the inspection mission that took place in October 2019. After five years of preparations, a registration of Czech malt producers for their export to China was also successfully completed. In addition, a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic on Establishing Working Group on Promoting Trade Cooperation was signed.
Before the summit, president Zeman gave a written interview to the Chinese media.
