Remembrance Day at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Beijing

On 11th November 2015 more than 100 representatives of Embassies of countries around the world gathered at the Embassy of the Czech Republic to honour Remembrance Day.

This year the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Beijing altogether with Slovak Embassy were honoured to hold a Remembrance Day commemorating the victims of war. Ambassadors, diplomats and members of armed forces gathered in gardens of the Embassy on November 11 at 11 o’clock, the 97th anniversary of Armistice signed to end the First World War.

The present representatives laid wreaths and in silence they commemorated those who perished during armed conflicts. In their speeches Czech Deputy Ambassador Zbyněk Noha and Slovak Deputy Ambassador Tomáš Felix expressed their honour for those who laid down their lives in wars and made a promise to never forget. The atmosphere of memorial was drawn by the sound of pipes played by Detective Superintendent Harnish McCardle from New Zealand Police.
