Sichuan is one of the most known Chinese provinces. The „Sichuan style“ (spicy) cuisine is something that also Czech people know, as well as Sichuan’s long history, spectacular nature and the panda bear- its world’s most famous inhabitant .
Less known is that this „gate of Chinese west“ of 90 million people maintains fruitful cooperation with one of Czech regions – Středočeský kraj, that it holds many opportunities for Czech trade, tourism and cultural interests. These were also the main reasons of the visit of the Czech Ambassador to China, Mr. Libor Sečka, to Sichuan’s capital Chengdu in March 2011. During this visit, Ambassador Secka, together with the manager of the Czechtrade agency in Chengdu Mr. Vyroubal, met Sichuan´s vice-governor Mr. Li Cheng Yun, and was introduced to many top ranked artists of Sichuan. Visits in ateliers of Wang Yishi and He Duoling were especially impressive. Ambassador also attended the opening of Winshare Art Museum- the new exhibition complex in Chengdu.
