Discussion with expert on the occassion of the International Day of Human Rights

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Beijing organized a discussion with the participation of Chinese human rights expert and founder of the online project China Change, Mrs. Yaxue Cao.
Mrs. Yaxue Cao talked about the current situation of human rights in China.
China Change is an online project and website in English, launched in 2013, that provides information on human rights, the rule of law and civil society in China.
The concept and format of the discussion follows the breakfast of French President François Mitterrand with Czechoslovak dissidents in December 1988, which was also attended by the later Czech President Václav Havel. At the time, the breakfast was widely recognized as a significant expression of support for human rights defenders.
Similar discussions have been still organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and Czech embassies around the world as part of the commemoration of the Human Rights Day.
