The reception was opened with the Czech and Chinese national anthems, followed by speech given by the Czech Ambassador Vladimir Tomšík and speech given by the Chairman of the Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, Professor Karel Rais.

After delivering the speeches, all guests gathered in the garden where president of ŠKODA China Mr. Ralf Hanschen presented a new model of Škoda Superb. Based on the long-term agreement about the modernization of the Embassy cars for mutual representation, this new model has then been handed over to the Embassy.

The guests enjoyed delicious traditional Czech cuisine prepared by Czech Embassy Chef and Czech drinks such as Dalešice draft beer and various Moravian wines. Guests of the State Reception had the opportunity to admire the exhibition of A Qin Straka’s paintings and other art from the Czech China Contemporary Art Museum. Czech design, porcelain and glass were presented by brands Modernista, Preciosa, Moser, Halama and Egermann.

The reception was attended by more than 150 guests such as diplomats, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People´s Republic of China, Czech studies teachers and their students and Chinese business, cultural and sports partners of the Czech Embassy.
