The Embassy of the Czech Republic attended the Opening ceremony of the exhibition "Transparent Shadows on the Sapphire Sea"

On August 25th, the opening ceremony of the "Transparent Shadows on Sapphire Sea” — Art Exhibition of 70 Years’ Career of profesor Luo Yi, organized by the Chinese Artists Association, the Academy of Fine Arts of Minzu University of China, and the Chinese Oil Painting Society, was held at the Chinese National Academy of Painting.

Prof. Luo Yi, a member of the Central and Eastern European Countries Branch of the Western Returned Scholars Association (Chinese Overseas Educated Scholars Association), traveled to Czechoslovakia in 1956, where he studied under Prof. VL. Rada of the Painting Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, and was the only one of the Chinese students sent to Central and Eastern European countries at that time to specialize in the oil painting of landscapes and portraits in Czechoslovakia. Over the years, he himself and his art has made outstanding contributions to the friendship between China and Czech Republic.

On behalf of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in China, Adam Kupka and Filip Čápek participated in the opening ceremony. Adam Kupka delivered a short speech, saying that Mr. Luo's art exhibition indicates the good friendship between the Czech Republic and China. He wished the exhibition a great success and called for more cultural and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.
