Roundtable duscussion and Čapek's "Pocket Collection of Stories"

Alongside the Chinese translation of Čapek's "Pocket Collection of Stories" being released, a roundtable discussion titled "Karel Čapek in the Chinese Context" with the chinese translator of Čapek has been successfully held at the Czech Embassy in China On October 16, 2025.

The event brought together several distinguished guests: Ms. Sun Tinglin, a lecturer in the Czech language at Jilin University of Foreign Languages and a translator for Čapek's "Tales from Two Pockets"; Mr. Jian Ping, a writer and critic; Mr. Shen Qian, a professor specializing in Bohemian studies at Beijing Foreign Studies University; Ms. Kubovská, a Czech sinologist; and Mr. He Jia-shen, a representative czech language student from Shanghai University of Foreign Studies. They engaged in in-depth discussions on various topics such as the contemporary societal implications of Čapek's works, the relationship between artificial intelligence and translation, literary creation, and Czech culture. Ms. Sun Tinglin shared her experiences in translating Czech literature and encouraged more young students to actively participate in the translation of Czech literature.
