On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the partnership between the European Union and the Republic of Azerbaijan, the event “European Village 2026” was held in the Azerbaijani city of Ganja. The programme began with a meeting between the heads of EU Member States' diplomatic missions and the leadership of the Ganja City Executive Authority. A tree-planting ceremony was also held in Heydar Aliyev Park, along with a knowledge competition for Ganja students focusing on individual European countries.
On June 6, visitors had the opportunity to explore the exhibition stands of EU Member States in the city's main square. The Czech Republic presented its culture at a joint stand together with the Slovak Republic. Particular interest was generated by the book “Anthology of Czech Classics”, which had been translated into Azerbaijani directly from the Czech language and received a very positive response from visitors.
