Ambassador Šnaidauf meets Minister of Culture of Iraq

On May 5, 2025, Ambassador Jan Šnaidauf discussed possibilities of developing mutual cooperation with the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Historical Heritage of Iraq Mr. Ahmed Fakak Al-Badrani.
Both partners confirmed their interest in developing mutual cooperation. Among the topics of discussion were medical tourism to the Czech Republic, the participation of Czech companies in the restoration of monuments in Iraq, the supply of crystal chandeliers to local shrines, participation in cultural events and fairs in both countries and the conditions for the participation of Czech experts in archaeological research in Iraq. As the Minister said, Iraq is currently offering a number of investment projects to foreign investors, including in the field of tourism. The Minister presented Ambassador with publication and painting.

The Czech Republic and Iraq have an agreement on cultural cooperationsince 1959 (i.e. the Agreement on Cultural Cooperation between the Czechoslovak Republic and the Republic of Iraq, signed in Baghdad on May 7, 1959, No. 170/1960 Coll.).
