
Concert by the Czech violinist Jan Mráček in Athens

On 1.3.2019 a concert by the Athens State Orchestra and the Czech violinist Jan Mráček took place at the Athens Concert Hall “Megaro Musikis“.
The virtuosity of the Czech violinist Jan Mráček is not unfamiliar to the Greek public – with the support of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Athens, this young artist, together with the pianist Lukáš Klánský, participated at the 26th Music Festival in Navplio in the Peloponnese in June 2017. Next year, in 2018, Jan Mráček represented the Czech Republic at a concert upon the occasion of Hungary´s Visegrád Group Presidency end in Athens.
This is the third time when Jan Mráček gives a performance in Greece, as part of the concert by the Athens State Orchestra entitled „The Free Man“. The event, classical music lovers had been long time waiting for, took place on 1 March 2019 at the Athens Concert Hall “Megaro Musikis“. The programme consisted of works by Ch. Papageorgiou, R. Strauss and J. Brahms, J. Mráček and the Athens State Orchestra performed together Brahm´s Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in D major, Op. 77.
The public rewarded the concert with long applause and the performance of Jan Mráček successfully and in a dignity way presented one more time the Czech music tradition in Greece.
