On 24 - 25 June, the Minister of Foreign Affairs J. Lipavský paid an official visit to Turkey. The visit focused on deepening bilateral political and trade relations with Turkey. The sides also discussed issues related to relations between Turkey and the European Union, Russian aggression against Ukraine, security policy and NATO, the fight against illegal migration and the situation in the Middle East region. 
In the morning of 25 June, the Minister and the delegation paid a visit to the Mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of modern Turkey and its first President, with the laying of a wreath and inscription in the memorial book. This was followed by a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs H. Fidan, a press conference and a working lunch. After the meeting at the MFA, the Minister and the delegation went to the Parliament to meet its President N. Kurtulmus. At the Ambassador's residence, the Minister met with representatives of civil society and a representative of the Crimean Tatars. As the last part of the program, the Minister opened a reception to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with Turkey, attended by Deputy Foreign Minister M.K. Bozay, Ankara Mayor M. Yavas, a number of ambassadors and representatives of the compatriot community from Ankara and Istanbul.
