Czech violinist Jaroslav Svěcený performed with Slovak band Gypsy Devils at the 40th Ankara Music Festival

On 20th April 2026, Czech violinist Jaroslav Svěcený together with Slovak dulcimer band Gypsy Devils performed at the 40th Ankara Music Festival. Performance titled „Fiery Music“ held at the brand new hall of Cankaya Municipality Cultural Centre presented a combination of classical pieces by J. S. Bach and J. Brahms, modern pieces by A. Piazzola and J. Williams, authors´ solos by J. Svěcený on violin and by E. Šarközi on dulcimer, and at the end also the famous Turkish Izmir March in an arrangement for dulcimer and five strings, that the Ankara public welcomed with standing ovations.
In the morning hours of that day, professor Svěcený also gave masterclass lectures to advanced students of violin play at the Music Conservatory of the Ankara University.
