Celebration of the Czech National Day in Ankara

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ankara marked the 104th anniversary of the foundation of the Czechoslovak Republic (28 October 1918) by hosting a reception and the opening of photo exhibition titled "The Czech Photography of the 20th Century" at the CerModern Gallery on 26 October. The Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mr. Mehmet Ersoy, attended and spoke as the guest of honour. His speech as well as the word of welcome by Ambassador Pavel Vacek gave high appreciation in particular of the economic relations of Czechia with Tûrkiye, as an Ally at NATO and a candidate state of the European Union and, in this context, pointed out the importance of the Czech Presidency of the EU Council. The event was accompanied by live music played by the Hacettepe University Jazz Quartet.
