The Embassy of the Czech Republic participated in the Press Trip focusing on Refugee Projects funded by the EU in Turkey
Journalists from several European countries accompanied by the Head of the EU Delegation to Turkey, Ambassador Christian Berger, and EU member state representatives visited Istanbul and Gaziantep on November 19-21. The participants were provided with detailed information on the EU’s commitment to support Turkey in hosting the world’s largest number of refugees.
The press trip focused on EU-funded projects in the area of health and socio-economic support for refugees and host communities. The group visited a migrant health center in Esenyurt (Istanbul) and attended the opening of the project called "Job Creation and Entrepreneurship Opportunities for Syrians under Temporary Protection and Host Communities in Turkey". Furthermore, in Gazinatep the group paid a visit to the Vocational Training Center and attended a meeting with Syrian doctors and nurses who have been trained by WHO. Also, participants met with two entrepreneurs related to a project with TOBB and representatives of advocacy group Future of Women’s Committee, which was established by refugee women at UN Women's Sada Center.
