Superlegalization (higher autentification) of documents

Superlegalization is a higher authentication of a public document. It is done by embassies by verifying signature / official stamp / official seal on a document. Only then can a public document be used abroad. 

Public documents issued by countries that are parties to the Hague Convention do not need to be superlegalized.

Public documents issued by countries in the consular jurisdiction of the Czech Embassy in Abuja = NigeriaBenin, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo-Brazzaville, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Niger MUST BE SUPERLEGALIZED FOR USE IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC.

 

Examples: birth certificates, marrige certificates, criminal record extracts, university diplomas and others for long-term visa / residence permit applications, registering birth or marriage in CZE and others.

Public documents issued by Cameroon can also be superlegalized by the Honorary Consulate of the Czech Republic in Douala.

Note:

Bring original document (not certified or plain copy) authenticated (legalized) by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country where it was issued.

Bring the document in person – mailing is not possible.

Birth and marriage certificates must be brought by the owner ONLY.
