Presentation of Czech small tractors Vari by the Czech company Knights in Abuja

On May 24, 2017, the presentation of the Vari small tractors by the Czech company Knights took place with support of the Czech Embassy in Abuja. The event was organized under the auspices of the Presidential Committee on the North East Initiative. This committee was established by the President of Nigeria Mr. Buhari as the primary advisory and executive body for national strategy and coordination of activities for all humanitarian interventions, transformation and development efforts in northeastern Nigeria, most affected by activities of Boko Haram.
Presentation supported by the President of the Presidential Committee on the North East Initiative, Federal Ministry of Agriculture of Nigeria, Czech Embassy in Abuja, with the participation of governors from northeastern states, representatives of agrarian chambers and associations, media, banking sector and the professional public was very successful and certainly it helped to promote these Czech machines. Currently, the Presidential Committee on the North East Initiative and the company Knights are finalizing negotiation of the contract for a 200-machine pilot project which might lead to the further contract for the purchase of 1,200 small tractors for six selected Nigerian states (Taraba, Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe and Yobe).
Company Knights has been active in Ghana for a long time. In Nigeria, it begun to be promoted in 2016, when the company managed to establish contacts with the Oyo state administration and there was a festive presentation of the Vari small tractors in Ibadan, Oyo state capital, in April 2017. These activities resulted in a contract for the purchase of 120 machines.
The Embassy of the Czech Republic was represented at the event by the Economic and Commercial Attaché Beata Matusikova.
