Czech Republic helps in Nigeria: Computers for juvenile prisoners

Ceremonial handover of computer technology to the local library in Suleja custodial center, which was donated by the Czech Republic together with the Cardinal Onaiyekan Foundation for Peace (COFP), took place on August 20, 2020.

The Czech Republic perceives the need to help in developing countries and thus contribute to improving the living conditions of people in difficult life situations. Thanks to cooperation with the Nigerian Cardinal Onaiyekan Foundation for Peace - COFP, the Czech Embassy in Nigeria, through the institute of the so-called small local project, contributed financially to the acquisition of 10 personal computers with internet connection. These will be used by inmates in Suleja custodial center for their on-line education in order to use effectively the period of imprisonment and subsequently to increase their chance for employment.

On August 20, 2020, a ceremony was held with the participation of representatives of the Peace Foundation, the management of the correctional facility and economic diplomat Beata Matusiková.
