Please note:

• The following is only a guideline for minimum requirements for a short-term visa, additional documentation may be requested.
• If you don't go to the Czech Republic directly from the UAE, you have to have a visa of the country from which you intend to visit the Czech Republic.
• There is no legal right to a visa. In case of visa denial there is no refund.
• The Embassy cannot accept any documents sent by fax or e-mail. Incomplete, unclear, illegible or unsigned applications will not be accepted.
• All supporting documents have to be in English or Czech. Applications will only be accepted upon submission of all the required documents. One set of photocopies of all required documents has to be handed in with the application. Additional documents may be required in certain circumstances.

 

Basic requirements:

 

1.An original application form duly completed and signed by the applicant.

2.One recent passport size photograph glued to the application.

3.Original passport signed by the holder (valid at least three months longer than the proposed stay) plus one photocopy thereof.

4.UAE-residence visa (valid at least three months longer than the proposed stay).

5.Return flight ticket (not only booking) bearing dates for outward and return journeys.

6.Adequate and valid individual or group travel insurance to cover any expenses, which might arise in connection with repatriation for medical reasons, urgent medical attention and/or emergency hospital treatment. The insurance must be valid on Schengen area, cover the entire period of the applicant's stay. Effective date and expiration date have to be marked in presented health insurance document. Visa validity will not be longer than the validity of travel health insurance. The insurace certificate must be submitted to the Embassy before the visa is issued, preferably already at the moment of applying for visa. The minimum framework of insurance coverage shall be 30.000 EUR.

7.Minors must submit a written consent of their father or legal guardian plus a photocopy of their father's or legal guardian's signed passport.

8.Proof of financial capabilities (Personal bank statement listing transactions for the last three months, credit card).

9.Proof of accommodation in the Czech Republic.

+ Others than UAE nationals also :

10.Letter in original from employer and/or sponsor (non-objection letter) stating designation, date of employment, salary, period of stay, stamped and signed by the General Manager (name should also be printed).

Additional documents requested for different purposes of travel:

Business

• Invitation letter from a duly registered Czech company stating duration, purpose and financial arrangement of stay.
• Original Letter from employer and/or sponsor stating designation, date of employment, salary, period of stay, purpose of visit, stating full responsibility for employee's expenses during trip and his/her return stamped and signed by the General Manager (name should also be printed).

Private invitation

• Original obligation/guarantee letter provided by the invitee, and attested by Czech Foreign Police, stating duration of stay.
• A link to be established between the inviter in the Czech Republic and the visa applicant in the UAE (a letter to be enclosed from the inviting party in the Czech Republic explaining the relationship).

Medical treatment

• Proof that cost of the medical treatment can be covered (i.e. personal bank statements listing transactions for the last three months, guarantee letter of the Health Authority).
• Medical certificate issued by the doctors in the UAE.
• Written confirmation of an appointment in a hospital in Czech Republic.

Domestic staff

• Original Non Objection Letter/Guarantee Letter from sponsor accepting full responsibility.
• Housemaids can travel only together with the sponsor. A prerequisite is the duration of employment (at least one year before application for visa).
• Proof of financial capabilities of sponsor.

Processing time of visas

Processing of visa may take 1-4 weeks calculated from the date of submission of a visa application. The Embassy cannot guarantee the issuance of a visa if the application has not been submitted in sufficient time.

 

Multiple visas

Applicants have to state relevant reason, why they need multiple visas. The assessment of the relevance of the requirement is up to Czech Embassy. The type of visa may not be altered once the application has been submitted. Please consider carefully type of visa you apply for.

Each applicant for a multiple visa (for minors father or legal guardian) has to sign Declaration on Travel Health Insurance.

 

Notice: In case a multiple schengen visa is issued with a validity period more than 6 months, stated duration of stay allows the holder of passport to stay in a Schengen System member country for the respective period during each 6 months of the validity of visa.
