Business mission of IT companies to Armenia

On the occasion of the official visit of Mrs. Markéta Pekarová Adamová, Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, to the Republic of Armenia from January 31 to February 1, 2024, the Czech Embassy in Yerevan, in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce of the Czech Republic, organized a business mission for Czech IT companies. Czech companies had the opportunity to explore various pivotal IT companies in the Armenian capital, engage in a business forum, conduct B2B meetings, participate in campus discussions, and connect with representatives of Armenian professional associations in the IT sector.
 

Following the official visit of Mrs. Markéta Pekarová Adamová to the Republic of Armenia on January 31 to February 1, 2024, Embassy of the Czech Republic in Yerevan, in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce of the Czech Republic and the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, organized a business mission of Czech IT companies to Armenia. Participants of the mission were Mrs. Jana Havrdová, Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce of the Czech Republic and Mr. Jiří Hansl, Director of the Foreign Department. Mr. Martin Pospíšil, Director of the Department of Foreign Economic Policies, represented the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic. In addition, Mr. Ondřej Velek, Director of the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics, and Cybernetics at CTU participated in the mission.

 

Throughout the one-and-a-half-day program, representatives of Czech IT companies had the opportunity to visit important Armenian IT companies such as ServiceTitan and Renderforest. They engaged in discussions with the academic community during negotiations at Armenian State University and Armenian Polytechnic University, visited the specialized research facility Yerevann Lab, and met with management and members of Armenia's largest union of IT organizations - UATE (Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises) and UEICT (Union of Employers of Information and Communication Technologies). Mr. Armen Baldryan, President of UEICT, extended an invitation to Czech IT companies and representatives of the Czech Republic to participate in the Silicon Mountains Tech Summit, scheduled to take place in Yerevan on November 15, 2024.

 

A Czech-Armenian business forum took place at the Educational Center for Creative Technologies TUMO (www.tumo.org), where the event's opening featured welcoming remarks from Mrs. Markéta Pekarová Adamová, Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic,and Mrs. Jana Havrdová, Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce of the Czech Republic. B2B meetings between Czech and Armenian IT companies were also held at the TUMO center.
